Exciting Additions to Our Church Staff

Exciting News! Martin’s Lutheran Church is thrilled to announce the hiring of two new part-time staff members to strengthen our ministry and community outreach. We welcome our new Worship Arts Director, Ken Parker, who will lead and enrich our worship experience through music and the creative arts. Our Middle School Youth Director, Wendy Mensing, will guide and inspire our youth in faith, fellowship, and discipleship.

Ken Parker was born and raised in Casselton. He attended Central Cass School and dedicated 12 years to studying piano, musicology, and music theory under the esteemed Dr. William Babcock of Buffalo, ND. Following graduation, he continued his musical education with two years of intensive piano study under Dr. Nicholas Roth at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.


Music has always been Ken’s driving passion and deepest calling. He is honored to be part of the Martin Lutheran Church family, using his gifts to glorify God and enrich the worship experience in a community that values faith, fellowship, and the power of music.


Wendy Mensing
Wendy Mensing

Wendy Mensing is a dedicated and compassionate professional with extensive experience in education and community service. She has worked closely with students in structured learning environments as a paraprofessional, reinforcing positive behavior and delivering academic instruction. Wendy is also deeply committed to volunteerism, having served in leadership roles within the PTA and church council and volunteered in a host of local Christian ministries. She has participated in mission trips, led Bible studies, and coordinated Vacation Bible School programs. Wendy holds a North Dakota interim substitute teaching license and various trauma-informed care, first aid, and crisis prevention certifications.


These new positions reflect our commitment to vibrant worship and meaningful youth engagement, and we can’t wait to see how God works through them in our church family! Please take time to congratulate them and thank them for joining the team.
